Reckless Motorcyclist Killed In Dumfries Three-Vehicle Crash: Police

A motorcyclist who caused a three-vehicle accident in Dumfries has died from his injuries, police said.

On August 7 at around 11:15 a.m., Jason Whitaker, 46, was riding his motorcycle on Richmond Highway, when he ignored a red light and proceeded into an intersection, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

Whitaker, who collided with a Hyundai Tucson, was thrown off his bike from the impact and was then hit in the intersection by a Dodge Ram, authorities said.

Police said Whitaker was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

The driver and two juvenile passengers of the Hyundai Tucson were taken to the hospital as a precaution, but were released shortly thereafter, authorities reported.

The driver of the Dodge Ram was not injured, police said.

The police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact  703-792-5123, as officials are still investigating.
